About
With over 20 years of photography experience, Odoketa Photography is ready to serve your needs in virtually any capacity. Our speciality is environmental portraits, taking 'real' pictures of people (and animals!) in the place where they live or work.
Having shot photos on four continents, we are experienced in working in new and unique situations. We're also happy to collaborate with clients on special portraits, either in distinct circumstances or locations.
Experienced travel and landscape photographers, we can also work with you on capturing other images, such as interior and exterior photos for selling your home or progress photos for tracking construction. We can also craft images to help you promote your business, either creating attractive storefront images or promotional images.
Photo Classes
Like all hobbies, becoming a good photographer takes time and hard work. Let us help you along the way with a customized one-on-one photography training session. Because it's custom-built for you, we'll start exactly where you are in your photography journey, so you can leap ahead as quickly as possible.
Current classes on offer:
Getting to Know Your Camera courses:
- One hour 'getting to know your camera' course - $79! - We'll cover the basics of your camera, and discuss how to use it to get the best photos possible. If you're new to photography we'll cover some of the basics, both technical (ISO, shutter speed, aperture), and some guidelines for good composition (the rule of thirds, etc). You'll also get an info sheet covering what was discussed, customized to cover the questions we address in the course.
- Two hour 'getting to know your camera' course - only $129! - Like the one hour course, we'll cover the basics of your camera, and discuss how to use it to get the best photos possible. With a bit more time we can go into more detail on specific topics or situations.
- One hour 'getting to know your camera' course with one hour follow up - $159 - In addition to the 'getting to know your camera' course, come back after you've had some time to review what you've learned and we'll work through any additional questions, or just move on to some more advanced topics!
- Two hour 'getting to know your camera' course with one hour follow up - $199 - Two hour 'getting to know your camera' course with one hour follow up - In addition to the 'getting to know your camera' course, come back after you've had some time to review what you've learned and we'll work through any additional questions, or just move on to some more advanced topics!
Photo technique courses:
- Three hour 'photo walk' course - $179 - We'll go 'on location' (a location of your choice, or we can suggest one) to discuss techniques, composition, how to find a shot, exercises, and anything else you need to make great photos!
